D-ROOM have produced an instructional video for the new Coleman Milne Fairlane range of funeral vehicles. The video, which is provided on DVD with each new vehicle purchased, instructs new owners on standard operational procedures. Filmed entirely on location in sunny Bolton(!), the new video provides a professional and user-friendly resource for new owners. Many thanks go to Ross (one of the team of design engineers behind these exceptional vehicles) for his on-screen performance and voice-over.

D-ROOM were recently invited to design two new brochures for Scottish wedding venues Auchen Castle and Castle Venlaw.
The hotels, situated in the rolling hills and moorlands of the Scottish Borders and offering a distinctly Scottish theme, wanted brochures that would reinforce many couples dream of a traditional, romantic Scottish wedding.
Not needing to be asked twice, we said ‘we will’ and set about marrying stunning design with quality print and… we were definitely on time!

The biggest change to internet naming in 25 years took place recently when the governing body for internet domain names, ICANN, changed the rules to allow organisations to register their own names at the top of the internet name hierarchy.
This means that instead of .com, .co.uk or .net, organisations will be able to register their company brand or a name relating to their products or service, eg. .d-room or .design
The change presents a unique digital marketing opportunity plus new challenges.
A good article about the changes can be found at:

Cyber Coach Smart chose D-ROOM to develop a website to showcase their exciting product range of streaming danced based activities.
Aimed primarily at the education sector, the website was developed to reflect the diversity of choice and sense of fun that makes Cyber-Coach Smart such an appealing choice for teachers – and a popular one for pupils.
Whilst the site was designed with a sense of movement, colour and fun, the serious stuff behind the scenes means that it is driven by a powerful content management system (CMS) that allows Cyber-Coach to be as active as they wish with the updates.

… Digital House.
We recently asked for suggestions to name our building at 14 Bark Street East, Bolton. Seeing as pretty much everything we do these days is digitally developed (forgive me, but as someone ‘with experience’ I still remember the days pre-digital – a concept that some of the younger team members at D-ROOM sometimes struggle with), ‘Digital House’ seemed quite apt.
So from now on our address will be:
Digital House
14 Bark Street East
Bolton
BL1 2BQ

An interesting article appeared this week suggesting UK companies are missing out on much of the European market by not translating their websites.
The report states that ‘Research by Eurobarometer, which surveyed 13,700 internet users across 27 EU member countries, found that just 18pc of respondents reported buying online in a language other than their own “frequently or all the time,” while 42pc said they never do so.’
